About Us
Vancouver Renewable Energy (VREC) assists homeowners, coops and organizations by selling and installing affordable renewable energy systems. We have been in business since 2004 and are the leading installer of grid-tied photovoltaic (solar electricity) systems in Metro Vancouver, having installed the first such systems in several municipalities. We sell and install solar electrical and thermal systems and composting sanitation systems. We provide opportunities for volunteers and customers to assist with installations and learn about renewable energy systems. (click on Employment / Volunteers to learn more.) We are a member of the Canadian Solar Industries Association, The BC Sustainable Energy Association , the Canadian Workers Coop Federation and the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE BC). We are also an authorized dealer for Energy Alternatives Ltd. At Vancouver Renewable Energy, we're proud to have made a difference by installing clean, green, solar powered electricity in BC. As of today, here's how much electricity all the systems we've installed have produced to date.

We are a workers cooperative, democratically run by a volunteer board made up of workers-members.
